The USS Tranquility is an active fan organization interested in Star Trek, Science Fiction, Fantasy and more. We are located in Rochester, NY, USA. Whether you favor the dark side or the light side, the original series or the next generation you'll find something of interest in the USS Tranquility! We're not just a simple fan club though. As an active fan organization we work to serve our community and do what we can to see that our future is a bright one.
As fans of various shows, movies, authors and artists from the sci-fi/fantasy genre we never lack for lively discussions. We often travel as a group to conventions, working security at some of them and assisting the celebrities at their tables. We've helped out at the opening of Star Trek movies, appearing in costumes to promote our organization. Our meetings are times when we get together and have some fun holding discussion groups, movie nights, or having speakers address the club. One of our favorite talks was with Sarah Higley, a local professor who has had her script and a story produced on Star Trek.
We support a variety of local and national charitable organizations by having fund raisers and donating our time. We have helped WXXI, The Arthritis Foundation, Rochester Area Multiple Sclerosis, Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong, Independence Dogs, Meese Observatory, The Adopt-A-Highway Program, and many other charities. We are always looking for new outlets for our charity work, let us know what we can do for your organizations!
